All of you is welcome here.

I work with adults.  Individuals and Couples.

Therapy for those seeking deeper connections - both within themselves and in relationships with others.  Many who choose to work with me wish for more meaningful relationships.  I am a depth psychotherapist, and I work relationally with clients.  This means that, while welcoming your whole self, I, too, bring my whole self into the therapy room.  In session, I often bring awareness to what is alive in our relationship.  Wounding happens in relationship, and healing happens in relationship.  I have struggled with deep questions - who am I?  what is my purpose?  I welcome existential phenomena that arises in you.

Therapy for couples.  Therapy for multicultural couples.  Communication challenges, infidelity, intimacy.  Perhaps you and your partner have lost the spark.  Or you have life changes ahead - marriage, new child, empty nest...  Relationships, be they romantic or otherwise, have their ups and downs.  I work with couples who would like to better understand one another.  I bring a variety of tools to help build deeper connection - tools that can be used in the moment inside the therapy room and practices that can be applied in your world elsewhere.

Therapy for successful, career-driven achievers.  Many who choose to work with me are driven, successful go-getters with a buttoned-up professional image.  Some are thinking about a career change and seek guidance on how to move forward or where to move towards.  Some want a promotion but aren't quite getting to that next level.  Others find success professionally but deeply struggle in personal relationships.  I understand.  I've been there.  Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in the corporate world for nearly two decades, and I viscerally understand the pains of the corporate rat race.  I resonate with type-a achievers because I am one.  I remember when I became a manager in the corporate world for the first time.  I was smart, eager, and very anxious.  I didn't know how to be a "good" manager.  Since then, I've learned.  And I can share with you tools rooted in the science to help you manage through your stress and anxiety.

Therapy for Third Culture Kids (TCK)...first generation Americans and immigrants.  I welcome all of you - the parts of you that identify as American; the parts of you that identify as non-American; the parts of you that identify as both...or don't know quite how to identify.  Perhaps you're working to find comfort in your current home, which feels vastly different from your old home.  I understand.  I've struggled, too.  I have first-hand experience as a third-culture kid.  My parents immigrated to the United States in 1971.  I was born in the '70s and was raised in the racially divided south - in a small town in North Carolina.  I continue to sit with challenges that come with my multi-cultural identity, and I've developed tools to help.  I also have experience in living abroad - I lived and worked in London for several years.

Therapy for people of color.  Many who choose to work with me have experienced micro-aggressions in their workplace.  Many feel isolated and alone surrounded by the dominant culture in San Francisco.  Some are in a racially diverse relationship.  I'm a woman of color.  I'm a therapist of color.  I'm a culturally-attuned therapist with a multicultural background.  I have experience with many _____-isms.  I've received micro-aggressions in my workplace, in my community.  Sadly, outside of my awareness, I've also microaggressed others .  I continue to work on my own internalized oppression and my privilege.  I have deep experience with both sides of this coin, and I can help you navigate across differences.
